How we work

Subtle Consulting engagements are structured around how projects naturally progress. Clients may engage us at a single lifecycle stage or across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through to final account settlement.

Our practice is independent of contractor and supplier interests. We do not tender for construction work, do not sell materials or services, and do not receive referral fees. Our advice is therefore objective and aligned solely with the client's commercial interests.

Every engagement is led by a senior practitioner with direct involvement from project inception through to close-out. We do not delegate substantive advisory work to junior staff and we do not staff engagements with personnel whose experience does not match the engagement scope.

Our deliverables are outcome-focused. We define the decision the client needs to make, then structure the engagement around producing the cost and commercial information required to make that decision with confidence. Engagements are scoped with clear deliverables and, where appropriate, fixed or capped fees.
